Check your browser settings
It is important to check your browser permissions and settings. If you are already on this page it means that you have already allowed the browser to use the camera but for safety we check that everything went well.
Regardless of whether you are using Chrome or other browsers, such as Microsoft Edge or Firefox, you can proceed to check permissions via the browser settings and then find the camera and microphone.
For example, in Chrome:
- Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > view permissions and data stored between sites
- From here enter " Virtual Room" in the Search field
- Click on the "Virtual Room" list entry
- Here, set camera and microphone to Allow access to these devices.
Other solutions
- Close any other apps that may be using the camera, such as Skype or FaceTime
- Make sure the camera is not obscured , for example by a plaster
- If you are using an external camera, try disconnecting and connecting it again
- You can often save time and effort by restarting the device .
If there is physical damage to the device or if the problem persists after restarting the computer, try using a different device.
